Field trial inseminations with SpermAct are concluded, yielding just shy of 600 animals in total in the field trial. We thank both Næra Purkering AS and Stampen Purkering AS for their service and professionalism while navigating the field trial requirements and keeping their production running smoothly at the same time.
Stampen Purkering AS in Ørje joins the the field trial, adding to our capacity as trials are conducted in parallel both in Ørje and in Næra. The field is scheduled to run until the end of week 38.
Field trial initiatied. Inseminations with SpermAct started today in collaboration with Norsvin and Næra Purkering AS in Ringsaker as the hosting facility. Spermatech personnel were on-site to administer the activator as Næra Purkering official conducted the insemination routines.
SpermAct formula improvements are successfully approved for testing in livestock pork production environment. The field trial is scheduled to start up primo June. We aim at getting a total of 500+ animals into the study.
Spermatech AS has attained a prolongation of our ongoing project “SpermAct: A novel boar sperm call activator for improved pork production”. The extended project period allows for optimized enhancements on the activator itself before initiating the concluding field trial. The project will run throughout 2024, ending on the 31st of December.

Spermatech AS opens dialogue with International CRO Aragen Life Sciences, to aid in the challenges of the chemical dispositions of our sperm cell activator. We expect to make progress in this area within the next 6-9 months.
The project “SpermAct: a novel boar sperm cell activator for improved pork production” is initiated, running for three years to the end of April 2024. We have now teamed up with the “Department of Manufacturing and Civil Engineering” of NTNU Gjøvik, to help us develop and device hardware for the administration of SpermAct.
